Updated on: 22-04-2018

Board of Intermediate Education Karachi has the mandate to conduct exams of intermediate level in Karachi. All the colleges in Karachi are affiliated with BIEK. BIEK was established in 1974 as a separate body to maintain standard of education and conduct exams of intermediate level in Karachi. Due to population of Karachi, the secondary level and intermediate level education are administered separately. Since then, all the colleges and other institutes with intermediate level education are affiliated with BIEK. All these colleges and other institutes start admissions according to the schedule given by the board and also complete their education course according to the examination schedule of the board. According to BIEK, the academic year of matric class starts in April and that of intermediate exams starts in September. Before that, the board announces notice to all the affiliated colleges and HSSC level institutes for start of admissions. All these colleges and institutes start admissions and registration couples of months earlier than the scheduled time and the admissions are completed within time in all these intermediate level institutes. Model papers are very important for the preparation of exams by the students of BIEK as these model papers contain the latest paper pattern and syllabus of exams adopted by BIEK. The board publishes the model papers for the students every year and they can use these model papers to know about the changes adopted by the board. Apart from that, the students should also use past papers of BIEK which help them to know about the important questions that are repeated many times. BIEK organizes the intermediate exams during the months of May and June. Written and practical papers are held separately in May and June separately. Date sheets of these exams are issued by the board around two months earlier than the start of the exams while roll number slips of the intermediate level exams are posted to the students one month before the start of the exams. Date sheets and roll number slips of written and practical papers are issued separately by the board. May and June are the months during which BIEK conducts annual exams of HSSC part 1 & 2. 11th and 12th class students start waiting for the results of these exams soon after the exams while the results are declared by BIEK after two or three months of the exams. Students can view the results at the official site of the board while they also receive the results at their addresses few days after the announcement of the results.
